Triumph and celebrating it has been an important subject in pictorial arts of Iran in pre-Islamic periods . It has specially been a subject of many rock-reliefs.

Depictation of conquests has grown on the Iranian cultural and social context and has finally made a pictorial tradition with special characteristics .

In any era the artists have created prominent art works by the help of defined  symbols and signs .

Using physical and spiritual signs , triumph designs contain the power of a culture which stood on the meeting point of eastern and western cultures and presented its own special expression inspite of all effects of other cultures . This special statement causes the conquest designs of Iran to be completely different from other similar cases , for instance the ones of  Rome .

Iranian artists have not content themselves only to report the historical events and victories . They have also expressed  metaphorical concepts with specified cultural and social functions through creating novel pictures .
